Gases flows through tubes and water surrounds tubes.	Water flows through tubes, and smoke surrounds tubes.
Used for low steam demand.	Used in high steam demand.
Less control over quality of water.	Quality of water should be maintained by treatment of water.
Capacity of steam is more so is known timed boiler.	Retaining and holding capacity of the steam is less, so its required continuous operation.
