Properties of refer compressor lube oil

• High Viscosity Index (Density 300kg/mm³, A high viscosity index means smaller changes in viscosity at temperature changes as compared to a low viscosity index.)

• Low pour point (-42⁰c).

• High flash point (235⁰c).

• Good lubricating properties at low temp.

• Low floc point.

• Oil should be free from moisture /water under all conditions to prevent plant corrosion & freezing at the expansion valve.

• Oil should be compatible with the system. materials (doesn't react with seals & gasket).

• miscibility to refrigerant, but easily separated.

*Lube oil also provides some degree of cooling while in circulation.
